The annual July Fourth Independence Day parade will kick off a full day of patriotic celebrations Friday in Perry.
Entries of all kinds — from flatbed trailers to tractors, walking groups, political candidates and parties, civic organizations and local businesses — may line up at the East Perry Plaza at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. procession westward down Willis Avenue to W. Fifth Street and then south into Pattee Park.
Activities will continue all day in Pattee Park, including shelter-house BINGO from 1-4 p.m., the Perry Fine Arts Musical Extravaganza at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, live music back in Pattee Park from 6-9 p.m., and celebrations will close with a fireworks display about 9:30 p.m.
