Young people of all ages invited to come and learn to make some healthy after-school snacks at the McCreary Community Building’s Cookin’ for Kids Class Thursday, Aug. 15 from 1:30-3 p.m.
Chef trainees will make and take all their creations, and they will receive recipes to recreate their favorites at home.
The class will be taught by Haley Vaughn of Perry. Interested enrollees should personal message Vaughn with details about their ages and any dietary restrictions or major dislikes.
The class is limited to 15 students. Deadline for sign-up is Aug. 13 by 5 p.m.
All proceeds from the Cookin’ with Kids Class will go to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon and the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. The University of Iowa Dance Marathon creates and sustains special projects to provide emotional and financial support and services for pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families who are treated at University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
