There are normally two vantage points from which to see a parade. Most of us stand alongside the route and watch the parade pass by. For those in the parade, they slowly pass us by and liberally scatter sweets at our feet.
But a new view is becoming more common as drone technology becomes more affordable to the ordinary person and emerges from the sphere of the precision farmer and amateur hobbyist.
George R. Barker of Perry generously provided this nine-minute video of Monday’s Independence Day in Perry, filmed with his aerial drone, in order to demonstrate the power of this new technology.
Barker owns a commercial drone photography business in the Perry area and can be reached at 702-292-9864. His footage shows what the next step beyond our usual parade videos is like.
