Two Greene County men were injured Wednesday afternoon when their vehicles collided head-on on a granular-surface road about two miles south of Dana.

Two Greene County men were injured Wednesday afternoon when their vehicles collided head-on on a granular-surface road about two miles south of Dana.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, Connor Gunn, 18, of Jefferson was traveling northbound on V Avenue near 185th Street in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, and Wade Sohm, 33, of Grand Junction was traveling southbound on V Avenue near 185th Street in a 2016 Mack 600CXU when the collision occurred about 3:15 p.m. south of 185th Street.

According to the report, “poor visibility due to gravel dust was believed to be a factor in the crash.”

Gunn was transported to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines by a Unity Point air ambulance, and Sohn was transported to the Greene County Hospital by Greene County EMS.

The Greene County Sheriff’s office and Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Grand Junction Volunteer Fire Department and Jefferson Fire Department also responded.
