The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded promptly Sunday afternoon to the report of a grass fire on Partridge Trail east of Perry, where several $350,000 residences are located.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which was reported about 12:30 p.m. at 13725 Partridge Trail.
A lone man with a rake was seen amid the smoking turf prior to the firefighters’ arrival.
Perry Volunteer Fire Department Chief Chris Hinds said the homeowner was burning the neighboring lot when he lost control of the fire.
