The Perry branch of the Great Western Bank was the site of November’s Perry Chamber of Commerce coffee catch up event, with about a dozen Chamber members attending.

Great Western Bank Perry Branch Manager Trace Schmitt and branch staff members Courtney Straker and Rebekah Thoren welcomed the Chamber members. Schmitt also introduced several visitors, including Great Western Bank Commercial Bankers Joseph Breedon and Adam Phillips from the Clive branch and Merchant Services Partner Sharon Pohl of TSYS.

The Chamberites learned about the Perry branch — opened in 2012 in the former First Federal Savings Bank offices at 1111 141st St. — and about the current solid state of Great Western Bank, which is based in Sioux Falls, S.D., and has more than 170 banking branches across nine states, including 10 branches in central Iowa and the Des Moines metro.

Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti brought members up to date on the busy weekend of Chamber activities planned for downtown Perry, including the annual Art on the Prairie festival and several business open houses.
