October 4, 2019

  • A deputy removed debris from the roadway on N Avenue near 250th Street.
  • A deputy investigated a complaint of an emu running at large on Y Avenue near 210th Street.
  • John Sabus, 44, of Churdan was booked into the Greene County Jail to serve a sentence.
  • Jacob Hubbs, 20, of Jefferson was booked into the Greene County Jail for possession of alcohol underage.
  • October 5, 2019
  • Clint Dennhardt, 18, of Ames was booked into the Greene County Jail for first-offense OWI.
  • A deputy investigated an alarm in the 200 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a car-deer accident on 290th Street near B Avenue. Billy Welder, 56, of Cooper struck a deer with his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, causing an estimated $12,000 damage.
  • A deputy investigated a property dispute in the 900 block of Cedar Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a theft in the 700 block of Eagle Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 220th Street near S Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle on 305th Street near S Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint on 220th Street near Eaton Avenue.

October 6, 2019

  • A deputy removed a deer from the roadway on N Avenue near 210th Street.
  • A deputy investigated a two-car accident in the 2300 block of 337th Street. Jesse Bennett, 23, of Perry was driving at 2004 Ford F150 and traveling west, and Anthony Moore, 33, of Perry was driving a 1997 Ford F250 pulling a trailer and traveling east. Both drivers were coming to the crest of a hill and met in the middle of the roadway. Both vehicles sustained an estimated $15,000 damage. No injuries were reported.
  • A deputy investigated a domestic in the 800 block of Main Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious person on 220th Street near Scranton.
  • Shawn Ellsbury, 51, of Jefferson was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
  • A deputy investigated a parking complaint in the 2000 block of 250th Street.

October 7, 2019

  • A deputy assisted a motorist on 222nd Street and Pioneer Avenue.
  • Deputies assisted the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office with trying to locate a burglary suspect.
  • A deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on J Avenue and 170th Street. Lester Johns, 63, of Scranton was traveling south on J Avenue in his 1991 Chevrolet C1500, and Haylee Duckett, 16, of Jefferson was traveling east on 170th in a 2006 Toyota Tundra and struck Lester Johns’ vehicle. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Haylee was transported by personal vehicle to the Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries.
  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with trying to locate a driver of motorcycle that fled in the 700 block of N. Chestnut Street.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
