September 13, 2019

  • A deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on 240th Street near E Avenue. Dominic Johns, 16, of Scranton lost control of a Pontiac Grand Prix, and the vehicle rolled onto its top in the south ditch. The Scranton Fire Department and Greene County Ambulance also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. Dominic was issued a citation for a violation of a school permit and failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
  • A deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 800 block of 110th Street.
  • James Cunningham, 44, of no fixed abode was booked into the jail for a violation of probation.
  • A deputy investigated a complaint of cattle out on 330th Street near B Avenue.
  • John Sabus, 44, of Churdan was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
  • A deputy assisted with trying to locate a missing dog in the 1000 block of Eagle Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a gas drive off in the 500 block of N. 16th Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a verbal argument at the Wild Rose Casino.
  • A deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on 220th Street near Orchard Avenue.

September 14, 2019

  • Maurice Johnson, 26, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for driving while suspended and second-offense possession of a controlled substance.
  • A deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 1000 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with an arrest in the 1700 block of W. Westwood Drive.
  • Christopher Andrew, 22, of Scranton was booked into the jail for first-offense OWI.
  • A deputy investigated an alarm in the 900 block of W Avenue.
  • Jeffrey Steele, 52, of Des Moines was booked into the jail for failure to pay child support.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1500 block of 235th Street.
  • A deputy investigated an open door in the 600 block of N. 18th Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy arrested Douglas Owen, 37, of Fort Dodge on a warrant to serve a sentence. Owen was booked into the jail.

  • A deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 100 block of 190th Street.
  • A deputy investigated an alarm in the 500 block of N. 16th Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 220th Street near E Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint in the 500 block of I Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated an illegal burning complaint in the 1100 block of Eagle Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1300 block of K Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a complaint of a leaking anhydrous tank on Neola Avenue near 290th Street.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 500 block of R Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated suspicious activity on E Avenue near the railroad tracks in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a verbal domestic in the 1000 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • The Greene County Sheriff, a deputy and the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department responded to lost female on the Raccoon River near Squirrel Hollow Park. The female was located after a 90-minute search.
