Aaron Michael Moss, 30, of Grimes was arrested Wednesday on a charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.

A Grimes man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a Halloween incident in which he allegedly touched inappropriately an Ankeny woman at a house party in Dallas Center.

Aaron Michael Moss, 30, of 600 N.E. Fourth St., Grimes, was charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.

The incident began about midnight Oct. 31, when a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded to a report of assault.

According to court records, the deputy made contact with the victim, who said that “she was at a house party with several people,” including Moss, and “at one point during the night,” Moss allegedly picked up the victim “and then began to rub her vagina over the clothes.”

The victim “told Moss to stop, and he finally put her down,” according to court records.

The alleged incident “was validated by a witness,” and “Moss’ version of what happened” did not “make complete sense,” according to court records, leading the investigator to conclude “that there is probable cause to believe that Moss intentionally touched” the victim “inappropriately.”

Moss was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to posting a $2,000 cash or surety bond. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled in Dallas County District Court.
