Handgun report draws cautious response from law enforcement

Perry Police Department officers trained their rifles on a residence on Kading Road Thursday night as they approached in response to a report involving a handgun.

The nature of the call for service is unclear, and the police department is not releasing information about the incident at this hour except to say the public is not in danger.

Two Perry Police officers approached the residence at 2917 Kading Road about 8:30 p.m. Two Dallas County deputies also responded.

No arrests appeared to issue from the armed response.
