A vandal with a stencil and spray paint defaced the entrance of the Perry High School this weekend with a message of hate: “Report Illigals 1-866-DHS-2ICE.”

The vandalism occurred on the sidewalk outside the main entrance of the high school and was discovered about 4:45 p.m., according to the source who sent ThePerryNews.com a picture of the defacement.

It is unknown when the vandalism occurred and whether it was deliberately intended to coincide with the ¡Viva Perry! Latino Festival, held Sunday afternoon outside the Perry Performing Arts Center, which is on the PHS campus.

School officials promptly attempted to remove the hate speech when they learned of it.

The Perry Police Department also responded to the incident and started an investigation.

ThePerryNews.com will update this story as information becomes available.

  1. This was definitely thought through and planned with much forethought. As neat as the work is, this was not any kind of spur of the moment prank. This was not done by a casual, garden variety bigot. That being said, I don’t know whether this can really be classified over and above simple vandalism. Still and all, I’m very concerned about just what this person is capable of.
