A new plumbing supply store opened last Monday in Perry, promising lower local prices and a wide selection.

Keith and Kim Hatmaker, owners of Hatmakers Plumbing Supply at 1004 26th St., celebrated their first week in business and their new membership in the Perry commercial community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

The Hatmakers are newcomers to Perry, having recently bought a house on Second Street and now opening a new business. They lived in California the last 40 years, where Keith Hatmaker developed many connections in wholesale plumbing supplies, which mean bargains for Perry shoppers.

“We’ve got about 40 percent of our stock in now and will be filling it up in the next couple of weeks,” Keith Hatmaker said. “There’s nothing we can’t get as far as parts and supplies and if you bring in a picture of your problem, we’ll even tell you how to go about fixing it.”

Kim Hatmaker has Scottish roots in Dallas County, and she and Keith were joined at the ceremony by local family members Robert Wallace of Adel, Heidiann Campbell of Adel with 11-month-old Rae Lynn Wallace in arms, Kaylie Dean of Adel and Kyle Wallace of Redfield.

Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti and Chamber Executive Assistant Julie Scheib welcomed the Chamber members to the event with donuts and bottled water, including Perry City Council member Barb Wolling, Iowa Realty realtor Wayde Burkhart, Raccoon Valley Bank Retail Banking Officer Kathy Hoskinson, Raccoon Valley Bank Accounting and Operations Supervisor Diane Vallejo and ReMax Realty realtor Judah Saemisch.

Also attending were ThePerryNews.com publisher Jim Caufield, Gatehouse Media advertising representative Linda Schumacher, Dallas County Hospital Chief Clinical Officer Cindy Peeler, BTWI’s Nathan Leerhoff, Dallas County Hospital Foundation Director Matt Crooks, Dallas County Hospital Community Relations and Marketing Manager Macinzie McFarland, BTWI’s Jeff Leerhoff and Finneseth, Dalen and Powell law partner Mark Powell.

Hatmakers Plumbing Supply is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The phone number is 515-207-8131 and the email address is hatmakerswholesale@gmail.com.
