Hawk harriers compete Tuesday at Bulldog Invitational

OGDEN — Woodward-Granger ran the first of two meets in a three-day span by navigating the course on the Don Williams Golf Course at the Ogden Invite Tuesday.

Panorama (15) posted a perfect score to win the girls team event. Ogden was second at 65 and Grandview Christian third at 74, with W-G (77) and Collins-Maxwell (129) following.

The boys team title went to Ogden (26), with GVC (51) the runner-up. C-M was third (77), W-G (86) fourth and Panorama (131) fifth.

Libby Grell and Chloe Houge finished 10-11 for W-G in 24 minutes, 9.39 seconds and 24:17.36, respectively. Sydney Grell (26:22.74), Katie Grell (26:34.79), and Makenzie Dresback (27:08.99) also scored for the Hawks, crossing 16th, 19th, and 21st. Avery Smith (24th, 28:31.21), Madisyn Mann (25th, 28:32.2), and Marissa Trees (32.58.72) also ran for W-G.

Sophomore Carsten Wright finished third overall for the W-G boys with a clocking of 18:41.04. Xavier Ibarra was 17th in 21:14.96 and Dillon Limoges 21st in 21:46.07, with Riece Graham (22:02.21) and Healey Hill (22:03.06) 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Elijah Bell (27th, 22:21.76) and Tjaden Smeltzer (29th, 22:56.54) also ran for the varsity.

Joel Harney (23:23.35), Sterling Parkison (24.35.46), Landon Bogardus (24:57.61), Kainen Fuson (25:13.46), Kurt Crouse (25:14.62), and Lucas Hanson (26:43.89) posted times for the W-G boys junior varsity.

The W-G boys and girls middle school teams were also in action, running in a pair of two-mile races. W-G (21) and Ogden (40) posted girls team scores, with Ogden (23), W-G (45), and Coon Rapids-Bayard (62) generating boys team scores.

Eva Fleshner and Jaidyn Achenbach were 1-2 in 13:33.71 and 14:36.64, with Zoey Osmundson (5th, 15:28.11), Talia Wright (6th, 16:37.42), and Chloe Creger (7th, 17:04.71) also had their places counted. Grace Sharr (8th, 17:07.71), Riley McCaulley (9th, 18:03.16), and Rylee Woodard (13th, 18:07.49) were also on the course for the Hawks.

Cael Leighton (3rd, 13:45.09), Grant Polito (5th, 14:27.41), and Casey Foster (9th, 15:06.46) were the top three for the W-G MS boys, with Wiley Sharr (13th, 16:44.85),and Sidney Trees (15th, 18:06.12) scoring as well.

W-G will run in a varsity-only meet Thursday at the West Central Valley Middle School in Redfield. The varsity girls will run at 4:50 p.m. with the varsity boys to follow.
