GRANGER — Caden Easter struck out 11 and allowed only one hit as Class 2A No. 5 Woodward-Granger toppled 1A CAM from the ranks of the unbeaten in their non-conference meeting Monday.

CAM, a member of the Rolling Hills conference, entered the game 10-0 and having outscored their 10 foes by a combined 125-6. Numerous players had gaudy offensive stats, none of which was evident against Easter, who dominated from the mound.

W-G (13-4-1) was out of the gate quickly with four first-inning runs. A three-run second inning followed, with the Hawks scoring once in the fourth before ending the game early with two tallies in the fifth.

Reese Jamison had three singles and a double, Bryce Achebach two singles and a double and Colby Tague three hits. Jamison had three runs and a RBI, Achenbach three runs and two RBIs and Tague a run and a RBI as the top trio in the lineup devastated Cougar pitching.

Achbenbach also drew a walk, with Trevor Simmons providing a double and a RBI to help spark the attack.

Statistical information from CAM was not available.

W-G is at AC/GC tonight before visiting Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Wednesday. The Hawks will host Panorama Thursday and Chariton Friday.
