Heartland Warriors 4-H host Sunday soup fundraiser

Chili, chicken noodle and potato were the soups de jour at the annual Heatland Warriors 4-H fundraiser at the Methodist Church in Minburn Sunday afternoon.

Karen Drees, in her second year as leader of the club, said this is the fourth year for the soup fundraiser.

The Heartland Warriors also sell soft drinks in the pits at the figure-eight races at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in summer, Drees said.

Feeding and serving the steady stream of diners were Heartland Warriors Emily Smith, Aidon Fuller, Caitlyn Ballard and Sophie Cummings, Dustin Barker, Caleb Crystal, Hallie Weddle, Sarah Tapken, Hali Henfling, Jacob Crystal, Nathan Tapken and Dylan Barker.

Accepting free-will donations at the door were Krista and Maggie Smith and Hannah Borst.
