Helicopter crashes, burns on Audubon-Guthrie line

Smoke rises from the crash of a helicopter in eastern Audubon County Tuesday afternoon where two Minnesotans perished.

Law enforcement blocked access to the helicopter crash site at 240th Street and Robin Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

A helicopter crashed and burned Tuesday afternoon near the Audubon County-Guthrie County line.

No information is being released by the Audubon County Sheriff’s office at this time regarding injuries or fatalities.

The helicopter reportedly was on fire at the crash site, and its fall struck nearby power lines, causing a grass fire.

The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of 240th Street and Robin Avenue in rural Audubon County.

Multiple public safety agencies responded, including the Audubon County Sheriff’s office, Guthrie County Sheriff’s office, Audubon Volunteer Fire Department and others.
