Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 for the 2018 primary election.

[In an effort to keep our readers aware of and informed about matters of public importance, ThePerryNews.com freely publishes the following public notice from the office of the Dallas County Auditor. — ed.]

NOTICE OF ELECTION AND PUBLIC TEST
DALLAS COUNTY IOWA 2018 PRIMARY ELECTION
TUESDAY JUNE 5, 2018

Voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before they may receive and cast a ballot. Pre-registered voters who are unable to show an approved ID may sign an oath of identification for an election held in 2018. Voters who are not pre-registered or who have changed precincts also may be required to provide proof of residence. Any voter who cannot show ID may have their identity attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who has proper ID. Starting January 1, 2019, all voters will be required to present an approved form of identification. A sample ballot for each political party is included with this notice. Offices and candidates not appearing on the sample ballots are listed below:
-Republican Party, State Representative, District 20 (vote for no more than one):
Candidates: Dodge Michael Perrigo and Ray Bubba Sorensen
-Republican Party, State Representative, District 44 (vote for no more than one):
Candidates: Anna Bergman and Travis R. Grassel
-Democratic Party, State Representative, District 20 (vote for no more than one):
Candidates: Warren Varley
-Democratic Party, State Representative, District 44 (vote for no more than one):
Candidates: Kenan Judge
-Libertarian Party, State Representative, District 20 (vote for no more than one):
Candidates: None
-Libertarian Party, State Representative, District 44 (vote for no more than one):
Candidates: None

The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. * NOTE: Those precincts with the asterisk and yellow highlight indicate a change in name or location.

Public testing of the voting equipment will begin on May 22nd. This test will be conducted at the Dallas County Auditor’s office at 210 N. 10th Street in Adel. Testing will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until completed.

This notice is given by order of the Dallas County Commissioner of Elections pursuant to Chapters 49 and 52 of the Code of Iowa this May 11, 2018.
