The Perry Public Library hosted Iowa artist Jolene Peters today in a special session of the library’s teen summer reading program.

Under Peters’ direction, teens made Independence Day-themed canvas board books using a flag design. The library supplied the materials, and librarian Misty VonBehren helped Peters coordinate the activity.

The free programming for teenage summer readers is ongoing.

About 25 Perry-area teenagers took part in today's special activity at the Perry Public Library.
