Hildy (Leibe) Riley, born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 17, 1934, passed away peacefully in Ames, Iowa, on June 10, 2025.
Hildy was the beloved daughter of Waldemar and Wilhemina (Schwiderski) Leibe.
Hildy graduated from Perry High School in 1953.
She was courted by the love of her life, Keith Riley, and they were united in marriage on Oct. 11, 1953, in Perry.
Hildy had a deep appreciation for nature and family. She found joy in gardening, birdwatching and cherishing time with her loved ones.
Together she and Keith dedicated themselves to cultivating their farms, exploring the country through travel and camping and “cutting a rug” with close friends.
Hildy is survived by her loving children, Randy (Sharon) Riley of Perry and Ginger (David) Burrell of Ames; grandchildren, Andy (Jessi) Riley, Joshua (Casey) Riley of Dawson, Lindsey Stolte of Perry, Matthew (Becki) Burrell of Ames and Jennifer Burrell of Ames; great-grandchildren, Brent and Max Riley of Rippey, Lilly, Lauren and Charlie Riley of Dawson, Riley and Maverick Stolte of Perry and Finn and Gwen Burrell of Ames.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Keith Riley; parents, Walter and Wilma Leibe; parents-in-law, Leo and Mickey Riley; brother-in-law, Ronnie Riley; niece, Janene Riley; nephew, Daniel Riley; great-granddaughter, Violet Grace Burrell; and many aunts; uncles; and cousins.
A visitation and funeral services were held June 30 at the Perry First United Methodist Church, followed by a luncheon at the church. Interment was at Rippey Cemetery in Rippey, Iowa.
