A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home-Perry Chapel, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa.
Hollie was born on Dec. 18, 1958, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Neal Milo Carpenter and Bette LaVee (Kopesky) Carpenter.
The family lived in Perry until 1962 before moving to Iowa Falls, later returning to Perry in 1973.
Hollie graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1977.
On July 1, 1978, she married the love of her life, Russell Moore, at the Forest Park Museum and Arboretum in Perry. Together they built a life and home in Perry, raising their two children, Allison and Ian.
Hollie was a longtime member of the Washington Chapel Church of Christ in Minburn.
Throughout her life, Hollie worked at the Perry Animal Clinic as a bookkeeper and office assistant and, alongside her husband, Russell, owned and operated the Hobby Shop in Perry. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially her beloved dog, Mia, whom her children joked was her “favorite child.”
Hollie enjoyed music, gardening, cooking, baking and working with computers. She loved collecting Pokémon cards, gnomes and fairies. A lover of adventure, she found joy in riding trains, camping and traveling.
Above all, Hollie adored her family and was incredibly proud of her grandchildren.
Despite battling multiple sclerosis for 37 years, Hollie never lost her positivity, quick wit and radiant smile. She was a source of strength and joy to those who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Hollie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Russell Moore of Perry; her daughter, Allison Lukehart of Urbandale; her son, Ian (Gracie Danger) Moore of Woodward; and two cherished grandchildren, Piper LaVee Lukehart and Cooper Lukehart of Urbandale. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal (1999) and Bette (2008) Carpenter; and her sister, Heidi (1989).

I am so saddened by this news. I remember Russ and Holly when were just kids together. Holly was a lovely person, and I know she will be missed by family and friends.
