Longtime Adel residents Jeff and Janell McIntyre are building a home hobby shop on their property at 1104 J Ave. on Perry’s south side, and they are also building a home to go with it.
Jeff McIntyre said he does not plan to operate a business out of the shop but will use it to tinker with his 1955 Chevrolet pickup truck and 1978 Corvette Stingray, and his wife and son will also have room for their hobbies.
The property lies on the city limit of Perry on its south and west sides, with a veterinarian’s clinic on the county ground to the south the McIntyres’ and a flooring store to the north.
McIntyre was waiting for his Amish workers to arrive Thursday morning in order to pour concrete footings for the house that will be built east of the hobby shop.
