Host Tigers make quick work of Jayettes

CARROLL — Wins of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-12 lifted Carroll to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Perry in Raccoon River Conference volleyball Tuesday.

Carroll improved to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in RRC action, with Perry falling to 0-14 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Eight kills from senior Kacy Nevitt paced the Jayette attack, with Jasmine Shriver adding four kills and Ashley Cerna and Peyton Tunink one kill apiece. Quinn Whiton distributed 13 assists and Cerna one.

Whiton and Nevitt each had 1.5 blocks at the net, with Peyton Tunink and Maci Tunink each credited with an assisted block.

Shriver finished the match with 16 digs, with Cerna and Whiton notching nine digs apiece. Peyton Tunink had four digs and Nevitt three, with Addison Huntington making two digs and Lanie Fish one.

The team was a combined 33-of-36 (91.7 percent) with one ace behind the service line.

Cerna was 6-of-6 with an ace, with Whiton and Nevitt both 6-of-6. Shriver was 5-of-5, Peyton Tunink 5-of-7, Fish 5-of-5 and Bella Nath 0-of-1.

Perry was scheduled to host a triangular with ADM and Des Moines East Sept. 24, but scheduling conflicts have caused a change, moving the ADM at Perry match to Oct. 15, with East leaving the schedule. Perry is now off until a visit to Winterset Sept. 29.
