No arrests followed a law enforcement response Monday afternoon to a report of a possible hostage situation in east Perry.

A caller said a male was in a unit at the Quail Run Apartments at 2902 Iowa St. with a social worker and several children and “would not let them leave,” according to law enforcement radio traffic.

“The only good social worker is a dead social worker,” the male allegedly said about 4:15 p.m. It was unknown whether the male was in possession of any weapons.

Officers of the Perry Police Department and Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded and found all parties exited from the apartment unit and the situation calm.
