The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded about 6 p.m. Saturday to a fire in the Hotel Pattee.

A fire in the laundry room about 6 p.m. Saturday led to the evacuation of the Hotel Pattee in Perry, which recently reopened for meals and room rentals after almost three months of state-imposed closure.

No injuries were reported.

Officers with the Perry Police Department and firefighters with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department promptly responded and controlled the blaze at the downtown landmark.

The cause of the smoke that filled the hallways is under investigation at this hour.
