Fire destroyed a house Sunday on the morning of New Year’s Day.

No injuries were reported in the blaze at 705 Jones St., which was reported about 5:15 a.m. as fully engulfed.

Officers of the Perry Police Department evacuated the residents of nearby houses in light of the risk of the fire’s spreading.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and requested mutual aid from the Woodward Volunteer Fire Department.

The cause of the fire in the two-story house, which appeared to involve the rear of the structure before reaching the front, is unknown at this hour. Built in 1910, the house is owned by Bianca Casas of Perry, according to Dallas County records.

A GoFundMe page has been stablished to assist the family in recovering from the loss.

The Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded to the holiday blaze.
