The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded when fire was reported in the house at 1405 Otley Ave. about 2 p.m. Saturday.
There were no injuries in the blaze, which was quickly brought under control.
Smoke was visible coming from the eaves on the northeast corner of the structure when firefighters arrived on scene. The source of the fire appeared to be isolated at ground level at the northeast corner.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this hour by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.
The two-story, 120-year old rooming house is owned by William and Karen Hernandez of Perry, according to Dallas County records.
The Perry Police Department and Dallas County EMS also responded.
