An egregious case of illegal dumping has occurred in rural Minburn, where nearly 200 used automobile tires were found in piles on private property.
“If you know anyone in the Minburn area that is suddenly without 100 or so tires, please contact the Dallas County Sheriff’s office,” said Rachel Aanonson of Cumming. “These were dumped at my parents’ farm. I will personally hand deliver them back to their front yard.”
The large load of tires was found east of Minburn on property owned by Craig and Deb Fleishman.
“And there are just so many,” said Aanonson, the Fleishmans’ daughter. “It had to be multiple people or truckloads. It was a well scoped out place where there are no homes nearby that could see it.”
After posting pictures of the dumped tires on Facebook, Aanonson said that her father “found another spot just now, so there is probably like 200! This is just not cool.”
Anyone with information about the illegally dumped tires is asked to cll the Dallas County Sheriff’s office at 515-993-4771.
Check out the DOT serial numbers. They may be recorded. Part of BMW’s road hazard warranty exclusions refers to tires not being the same as the recorded DOT serial number of the tires originally on the car as being excluded. That likely means if any of those tires are original equipment (search the tire to determine that) you can see if that tire’s number is recorded. They also record aftermarket tire numbers on road hazard warranties so possibly those records are searchable as well. Find out whose car the tire was on, and they will share who removed it.
