An Illinois woman was arrested late Tuesday for allegedly whipping a Waukee man with the charging cord for a cellular telephone.

Kristi Katina Chadzichristos, 36, of 1035 S. Highland Ave., Arlington Heights, Illinois, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Horizon Drive in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Chadzichristos allegedly “struck him with a cord,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “two welts,” one on his “right forearm” and one on his “right pelvic bone area” that “were consistent with being whipped or struck with a chord,” according to court records.

Chadzichristos is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
