The current Perry softball team will, with the public, be able to watch "those who went before" play in the inaugural Perry Softball Alumni Game at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The rosters are in, the coaches named and the weather appears promising for Sunday’s inaugural Perry Alumni Softball Game.

The game, which will begin at 3 p.m., will be played at Paul and Mary Ann Graves Diamond in Pattee Park, which served for years as the home field for the Jayettes. All funds raised by concessions at the game and from entry fees and donations will be used for the purchase of a new scoreboard at the diamond.

Saturday’s Paul and Mary Ann Graves Tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Perry Athletic Complex. All alumni will be admitted free. Perry will face IKM in the first game, with Interstate-35 battling Van Meter in the second game. The consolation game will begin at 1 p.m. and the championship at 2:45 p.m. Alumni will be introduced before the start of the championship contest.

All current PGSA and Perry high school players are invited to bring their glove to Sunday’s alumni game as they will have a chance to play in the field in the last inning. The public is, of course, invited to attend.
