Injuries sustained when car splits power pole on Iowa Highway 141

A four-door passenger vehicle sustained significant front-end damage when it left the roadway of westbound Iowa Highway 141 Saturday afternoon and split a power pole. The vehicle came to rest atop the fence line in the north ditch, and the pole came to rest leaning on the power line.

A Dallas County Deputy Sheriff spoke with witness and parties to an injury accident Saturday afternoon near Woodward on Iowa Highway 141.

One or more victims were injured Saturday afternoon when a vehicle left the roadway of eastbound Iowa Highway 141 near Woodward and struck a power pole.

The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. just west of the Woodward interchange of Iowa Highway 141.

The four-door passenger vehicle sustained significant front-end damage when the force of its impact split a power pole. The vehicle came to rest atop the fence line in the north ditch of eastbound Iowa Highway 141. The pole came to rest leaning on the power line.

The utility company was alerted and was responding to repair the power line.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office is investigating he cause of the mishap, which might have involved more than one vehicle.

The Perry Police Department, Woodward First Responders, Woodward Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County EMS also responded.
