Coinciding wth the city’s repainting of school crosswalks in anticipation of the start of the school year, the Iowa Department of Transportation was applying fresh paint to the lane lines Friday at the intersection of First Avenue (Iowa Highway 144) and Willis Avenue.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when passing the work crews.

The lines at First and Willis were last painted about one year ago. The intersection was redesigned in 2015.
