Last year at the Iowa State Fair, the Iowa Egg Council gave away 173,000 eggs-on-a-stick, but the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic put a crack in this year’s fair plans.
Lacking their usual place in the Ag Building at the Iowa State Fair, the council took its egg promotion to locations around greater Des Moines this week, including the DMACC Ankeny campus.
Representatives from the Iowa Egg Council passed out free eggs, including Alexis Stine, Iowa Miss U.S. Agriculture, who gave DMACC President Rob Denson an egg-on-a-stick while Iowa Poultry Association/Iowa Egg Council CEO and Executive Director Kevin Stiles staffed the council tent on campus.
