ALLEMAN — The Perry girls basketball team will host Des Moines North for a junior varsity/varsity set at 6 p.m. Friday, but the Jayettes saw a taste of action Tuesday at the North Polk Jamboree.
Perry won the unofficial two-quarter affair over GMG (Green Mountain-Garwin) by a 19-8 final. The Jayettes had a 10-0 lead after the first period.
Freshman Lydia Olejniczak led Perry with 10 points, with senior Molly Lutmer adding six points and sophomore Jayna Kenney three.
“I thought we played well defensively for the most part, especially early,” Perry head coach Skylar Wolf said. “We are going to try and push the tempo more this year, so that will be something we need to keep working on.”
