James ‘Jim’ Pommer of Perry

James “Jim” Pommer, 66, of Perry passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at his home in Perry after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 8 at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Perry. Burial will be at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry at a later date. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

James “Jim” Daniel Pommer was born April 2, 1951, in Perry to John Junior and Ruth Lorraine (Lillebo) Pommer.

He attended school at Perry High School, graduating with the class of 1969.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Cobb at Honesdale, Pa., July 5, 1980.

Jim worked as a baker at various locations and had his own janitorial business. In the 1990s he started working in electronics. He owned his own business, Pommer Consulting, and was currently working at Telligen as a network engineer.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He enjoyed the study of space, and dreamed about being a particle physicist.

Jim loved travelling, camping, and teaching, especially truths from the Bible.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Ruth Pommer; infant daughter, Aimee Mae; and a sister, Paula Fairchild.

Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Patti Pommer of Perry; children, Kenyon (Agnis) Pommer of Perry, Anthony Pommer of Grimes and Brett Pommer of Ankeny; grandchildren, Sean and Agatha, siblings, Pam (Joe) Fantauzzi, John M. (Darlene) Pommer and Brian (Kelly) Pommer; and a large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
