Janis Lee Myers passed away peacefully May 27, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Born June 24, 1943, to John Hansen and Florence (Pirie) Hansen in Paton, Jan graduated from Paton High School and moved to Perry after marriage to raise her family.
In her working years, she was employed by JC Penney, the Perry Foundry and Iowa Electric Light and Power Co.
A devoted Elvis fan, Jan was also an animal lover, caring for many cherished pets over her lifetime.
She loved to sew, read, do genealogical research and play card and board games.
Jan was a strong, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who always put the needs of others before her own.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Julie (Terry) Schenck of Bettendorf; and her son, Troy (Lisa) Anderson of Perry; grandchildren, Shera Anderson, Chloe Anderson, Jillian Schenck, Carly Anderson and Lauren Schenck; bother-in-law, Chuck Harmon; and several beloved nieces; nephews; and great-grandchildren.
Jan was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters; and grandson, Caleb Anderson.
There will be a private Celebration of Life in remembrance of Jan.
