Javier “Javi” Hernandez, 39, of Perry tragically passed away on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, because of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident alongside his beloved mother, Amelia Huaracha Rodriguez.
Javier was born on Oct. 17, 1985, in Jalisco, Mexico, to Jose Hernandez Moreno and Amelia Huaracha Rodriguez.
Javier was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a cherished member of the community.
Javier was a 2004 Perry graduate, the proud owner of Javier’s Construction, and a volunteer firefighter.
He also believed deeply in the power of education, and through the Javier’s Construction Scholarship he helped many PHS students achieve their dreams.
Javier enjoyed hunting and fishing along with spending time with family and friends. He loved taking his daughters shopping. He was known for his easy-going and kindhearted manner.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Araceli Herrera, on July 22, 2006. Javier and Araceli have three daughters, Alejandra (16), Alexa (11) and Ariana (9).
Javier devoted himself to providing and caring for his family.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Araceli; three daughters; father, Jose Hernandez Moreno; brother, Jesus Hernandez; sisters,– Maricela Sanchez and Margarita Hernandez; and best friend, Vicente Noyola. He also leaves behind an extensive extended family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents; and his father-in-law, Juan Herrera Gonzalez.
The visitation will take place on Friday, Jan. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. at the church. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa.

Javier “Javi” Hernández, de 39 años, de Perry falleció trágicamente el lunes 23 de diciembre de 2024 debido a las lesiones sufridas en un accidente automovilístico junto a su amada madre, Amelia Huaracha Rodríguez.
Javier nació el 17 de octubre de 1985 en Jalisco, México, hijo de José Hernández Moreno y Amelia Huaracha Rodríguez.
Javier fue un amado esposo, padre, hijo, hermano, tío y amigo. Era un miembro querido de la comunidad.
Javier se graduó de Perry en 2004, el orgulloso propietario de Javier’s Construction y bombero voluntario.
También creía profundamente en el poder de la educación y, a través de la Beca de Construcción Javier, ayudó a muchos estudiantes de PHS a alcanzar sus sueños.
Javier disfrutaba cazar y pescar además de pasar tiempo con familiares y amigos. Le encantaba llevar a sus hijas de compras. Era conocido por su actitud tranquila y bondadosa.
Se casó con su novia de la secundaria, Araceli Herrera, el 22 de julio de 2006. Javier y Araceli tienen tres hijas, Alejandra (16), Alexa (11) y Ariana (9).
Javier se dedicó a mantener y cuidar a su familia.
Quedan para atesorar su memoria su esposa, Araceli; tres hijas; padre, José Hernández Moreno; hermano, Jesús Hernández; hermanas, Maricela Sánchez y Margarita Hernández; y mejor amigo, Vicente Noyola. También deja atrás una extensa familia y muchos amigos.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos paternos; y su suegro, Juan Herrera González.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 3 de enero de 10 a.m. a 1:30 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Patrick en Perry, seguida de una Misa de Cristian Entierro a las 2 p.m. en la iglesia. Los servicios junto a la tumba se llevarán a cabo el sábado 4 de enero a las 10 a. m. en el cementerio Violet Hill en Perry, Iowa.
