BOONE — The grade 7-8 girls thinclads from Perry competed at the Boone Invitational April 21, with the Jayette 7th graders scoring 61 points while their 8th grade teammates tallied 18 points.
Rylynn Gilmore won the grade 7 discus with a spin of 72 feet, 2 inches, with Cassidy Heck sixth at 42’9. Gilmore scored fifth-place points after heaving the shot put 21’0-1/2.
Magley Orellana, Alexis Martinez, Ruby Ramos and Yamilet Figuero won the shuttle hurdle relay in 1 minute, 32.52 seconds, with Denise Mejia second in the 1500 in 6:45.61 while Hannah Peterson, Myke Meri, Katelyn Saldana and Carly Herrera were third in the sprint medley relay in 2:33.3 and Ramos, Herrera, Darien Westphal and Ann Nicolaisen third in the 4×400 in 5:46.38.
Herrera was fourth in the long jump (11;4) and Aliece Fox placed fourth in both the 100 (16.24) and 200 (34.97).
Peterson, Saldana, Meri and Fox were fourth in the 4×100 (1:09.4), Saldana, Peterson, Heck and Figuero fourth in the 4×200 (2:34.31) and Mejia, Ramos, Westphal and Gisselle Ruiz fourth in the 4×800 (14:05.67).
Jasmin Gonzalez placed fifth in the 100 (16.44), Martinez fifth in the 200 hurdles (39.99), Nicolaisen fifth in the 400 (1:22.81) and Mejia fifth in the 800 (3:20) to account for the grade 7 scoring.
Natalie Martinez was fourth for the Jayette 8th graders in both the long jump (12’5) and 400 (1:19.49), with Mackenzie Ayers, Adrianna Eastman, Skylar Feldman and Gabby West fourth in the shuttle hurdle (1:33.86). Also fourth were Michelle Ruedas, Kat Munoz, Jessica Ortiz and Stephanie Garcia in the distance medley (6:01.97) and Garcia, Eastman, West and Ortiz in the 4×400 (5:55.3).
Ayers was fifth in the 200 hurdles (39.04) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (21.58), with Kitzya Soto fifth in the shot put (19’2-1/4) with Jamileth Sarceno just behind in sixth place with a push of 19’2.
