Jayette golfers earn split at triangular

JEFFERSON — The Perry girls were missing two varsity starters but still managed to finish 1-1 against the competition at the Jefferson Community Golf Course Thursday.

Host Greene County placed first with a score of 215, with Perry 11 strokes back at 226. Des Moines Christian finished third with a 256.

Brooke Huntington led Perry with a round of 52, which earned runner-up medalist honors. Alyssa Kruger turned in a 57 and Skylar Cunningham a 58, with Hannah Roberts shooting a 59. Freshman Madyson Hill had a 71 in her first varsity action.

The Jayettes were without Sarah Sweet and Ellie Nielsen, who had a conflict with the school play.

Perry hosts the Jayette Invitational Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Dowling Catholic, Humboldt, North Polk, Norwalk and South Hamilton are expected to compete.
