Jayette golfers host quadrangular

The Perry girls golf team received visits from DC-G, Greene County and Winterset Monday for a quadrangular at the Perry Golf and Country Club.

Only two strokes separated the top three finishers, with Greene County shooting a winning a 209. Perry was a swing back at 210 while DC-G was one further back at 211. Winterset finished with a 229.

Rachael Danielson of Greene County was the meet medalist with a 45, with Brooke Huntington second at 46.

Madyson Hill scored for varsity with a 54, the second-lowest Jayette score. Sarah Sweet and Delaney Eiteman each had rounds of 55 for Perry, which discarded a 58 from Skylar Cunningham. Alyssa Kruger did not play in the meet.

Elli Madson (51), Emily Heupel (55) and Kaitlyn McColley (58) scored for Greene County, with Corry Pickering (53), Beth Stolte (57), Taylor Shahan (59) and Madison Wauters (60) providing the four scores for DC-G.

Winterset used cards of 51 from both Lydia Steier and Sarah Rauschenberg, with Maddie Calease turning in a 53 and Reagan Stokely a 56.

Perry will play at Terrace Hills Golf Course Monday in a Class 3A Regional hosted by Bondurant-Farrar. The 3A State Tournament will be held May 30-31 at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.
