Jayette soccer tramples Toreadors on Dewey Field

Four Jayettes entered their names into the scoring column Thursday as Perry blanked Boone, 6-0, in Raccoon River Conference girls soccer at Dewey Field.

Sydney Guerra scored twice for Perry, with assists coming from Mariah Duffy and Natalia Kryger, with K.C. Gafkjen scoring twice off assists from Duffy and Mariah McNamara.

Grace Marburger scored after a Guerra pass, with senior Erica Tenold scoring off her own free kick.

Jayette goalie Amparo Menendez recorded a clean sheet between the pipes for the hosts, who improved to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in RRC play with the victory.

The Perry junior varsity collected a win in the opener by dominating play in a 4-0 triumph.

Vivian Gonzalez had two goals and Ana Toboneye also found the back of the net, with Bailey Cmelik assisting on all three scores. Cmelik herself got into the scoring act, with Alicia Calderson providing the assist.

The Jayettes return to action Monday when they host Des Moines Christian.
