DES MOINES — The Perry girls swimming team lifted their record to 3-1 after wins over host Des Moines Hoover and Des Moines North Thursday.

Perry topped Hoover, 47-27, and walloped North, 50-5, with Hoover a 52-12 winner over North.

The Jayette quartet of Sophia McDevitt, Quin Mahler-Moreno, Zoe Hibbert, and Lilley Riley won the 200 medley relay in 2 minutes, 10.48 seconds and the 400 free relay in 4:18.7, with Perry not competing in the 200 free relay as the team was missing two swimmers.

Despite having only six bodies available the Jayettes piled up the points, with Mahler-Moreno winning the 200 IM in 2:23.05 while Emily Dowd won the 200 free in 2:32.83, a new personal best.

Hibbert (27.78) and Riley (30.4) had PB results in placing 1-2 in the 50 free, with McDevitt claiming the 100 butterfly in 1:07.63 and Hibbert the 100 free in 1:02.64.

McDevitt was first to the wall in the 100 backstroke (1:08.95) and Mahler-Moreno first in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.68) while Riley (6:24.07) and Dowd (6:54.23) placed 2-3 in the 500 free, with both recording new personal best times.

Perry returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Boone, with Algona also slated to be in attendance.
