ADEL — A 64-35 loss to host ADM Tuesday capped a busy stretch for the Perry girls basketball team, a span that saw the Jayettes fall to visiting Boone, 51-29, Monday, after a 79-32 loss Friday at Alleman to host North Polk. All three games were in the Raccoon River Conference.
Perry (2-15, 0-13) was within a basket, down 13-11, at ADM Tuesday, but a 27-8 second quarter helped the hosts open a 40-19 halftime edge. The margin grew to 53-23 after three frames.
Lydia Olejniczak had 24 of Perry’s points, with Quinn Whiton adding five. Kathryn West accounted for four points, with Kennedy Tunink and Michelle Tobar each adding a free throw.
Nicole Storck (15), Grace Hardcastle (13), and Aniston Smith (10) combined to lead the Tiger (6-13, 4-11) scorers.
Boone (9-6, 7-5) opened a 36-15 halftime lead at Perry, then kept the Jayettes at bay in the second half.
Olejniczak and Jayna Kenney each had 11 points, with Whiton providing five points, and Phoebe Stewart two. Olejniczak, Kenney, and Lanie Fish each had five rebounds for the hosts, with Olejniczak making three assists and posting four steals.
Emma Dighton led the Toreadors with 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven thefts.
North Polk (10-7, 9-5) seized control of Friday’s game early, creating a 26-10 lead after eight minutes and a 45-16 edge after 16 minutes.
Olejniczak had 13 points and Kenney 12, with Whiton notching three points and West and Tobar two each.
Makayla Boatman had 27 points for the Comets, with Abi Zimmons adding 18 points, Liza Schaffer 14, and Hannah Foster 10.
