GILBERT — One-win Gilbert did not figure to give Class 4A No. 7 Perry much of a battle Tuesday, but the Tigers did manage to stretch the game to a full seven innings before falling, 8-0, to the Jayettes.

Perry chipped away throughout the game, scoring twice in the first inning and three times in the third. Single tallies in the fifth, sixth and seventh frames completed the scoring.

Emma Olejncizak was impressive in the ring, allowing two hits and striking out 15 in six innings, with Sid Vancil whiffing two while throwing the seventh inning.

Olejniczak has been masterful over her last five starts. She is 4-1 and has allowed 22 hits and 11 runs in 34 innings, but only four of those runs have been earned. The senior has issued only four walks while striking out 53 during the stretch.

Vancil was 3-for-5 at the plate and scored three times while stealing three bases, with Jo Diw swiping two bags while also batting 3-for-5.

Maddie West had two singles and a double and Rachel Kinney a single and a triple while Olejniczak hit a double, with Adriana Eastman providing two base hits and stealing a base.

Perry visits No. 11 ADM tonight before hosting Saydel Thursday.
