BONDURANT — The Perry softball team posted their 20th win of the season Wednesday with a 10-0 defeat of Bondurant-Farrar in six innings of Raccoon River Conference action. It is believed to be the first time since 2000 the Jayettes have reached the 20-win mark in a season.

Perry (20-11, 4-9) jumped to a quick 5-0 start with a rally in their first at-bat.

Jo Diw and Sid Vancil singled to start the attack, with Alyssa Kruger singling home a run before Rachel Kinney’s base hit loaded the bases. Emma Olejniczak doubled in Vancil and Kruger, with a Victoria Hegstrom base knock plating Kinney and Olejniczak to cap the surge.

Diw singled, moved up on an error with Vancil batting and scored on a Kinney single in teh fourth as the Jayette lead grew to 6-0.

The Lady Jays (5-25, 0-11) struggled against Jayette starter Emma Olejniczak, who limited the hosts to two hits while walking three and striking out 10. The shutout was the 12th of the year for the junior ace.

Kruger reached after Vancil had singled to begin the Perry sixth. An Olejniczak single packed the bags, with Hegstrom playing Bingo and wiping the slate clean with a grand slam for a 10-0 Perry lead, setting the stage for the early finish as B-F could not score in their next at-bat.

Hegstrom finished with six RBIs on 2-for-4 hitting, with Diw, Vancil, Kinney and Olejniczak all producing two hits. Diw, Vancil and Kruger each scored twice, with Kruger driving home one run and Olejniczak two. Kinney had a RBI and scored once, with Olejniczak’s double and Hegstrom’s grand slam the only two extra-base hits in a 15-hit attack as Maddy Jans and Maddie West each added a pair of singles.

Perry will hold Senior Night tonight when Ballard visits the PAC for the RRC finale for the Jayettes. Carrigan Studer, Hegstrom and Jans will be honored before the game for their dedication to the program.
