  • While conducting business checks, an officer located an open door at 300 W. McKinley St.
  • An officer secured the building at 909 N. Maple St. after finding an open door.
  • Brandon Gobble requested a welfare check at 108 W. Central St., #5. Gobble believed an Iowa Department of Human Services order was being violated. An officer directed Gobble to make contact with the Iowa Department of Human Services because the officer would not know what orders are in effect.
  • Veronica Ellsbury reported her son was assaulted by another student at 401 E. Russell St. An officer is investigating.
  • An Iowa Department of Human Services worker reported a sexual abuse that occurred in Jefferson and was reported to the Iowa Department of Human Services five years ago. An officer is gathering information to begin an investigation.
  • A traffic stop was performed in the 100 block of N. Cedar Street, resulting in Benito Ortiz of Grand Junction being issued a citation for driving while suspended and failure to provide proof of security liability.
  • Layla Rysavy reported her juvenile son was being harassed by a known juvenile female. An officer contacted the parent of the female and advised both parties to end contact with each other.
  • John Voss reported a deceased cat in the roadway at Reed and Oak streets. An officer removed the animal and disposed of it.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
