March 12, 2018

  • Cassie Bellcock reported a violation of a no-contact order after she had received emails from Kaleb Lents. Bellcock was the protected party in the no-contact order, with Lents listed as the defendant. As a result, an arrest warrants has been requested for Kaleb Lents, 23, of Scranton for violation of a no-contact order.
  • Charles Heimer reported finding a bottle of urine on his property in the 900 block of N. Cedar Street.
  • Jennifer Schiltz reported a dog barking in the 800 block of W. Harrison Street.
  • Todd Muir reported a driving complaint in the 700 block of N. Wilson Avenue.
  • Jennifer Schiltz reported an aggressive pit bull running loose at the intersection of E. Lincoln Way and Cedar Street. Upon arrival, the officer located the dog, and it attempted to bite his leg. The dog was deemed vicious, and the owner, Jason Sheldahl, as was informed of this.
  • An officer responded to the 100 block of E. Washington Street for a male and a female involved in a verbal argument. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with Chris and Beth Laurent. The officer learned Beth Laurent had an outstanding Greene County arrest warrant for first-offense domestic abuse assault. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Greene County Jail.
  • Janice Napolitano reported receiving suspicious phone calls.
  • An officer responded to 506 S. Wilson Ave. for a domestic dispute. The officer spoke with Bradlee Beadle and Denise Beadle. During the investigation, the officer learned the argument started out as verbal and turned to physical. It was reported that Bradlee Beadle struck Denise Beadle in the face and slammed her head twice into a wall, causing a bloody nose. As a result, Bradlee Beadle, 47, of Jefferson was arrested for first-offense domestic abuse assault causing injury.
  • Kathy Morain reported losing her keys.
  • Jennifer Schiltz reported a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way.

March 13, 2018

  • An officer escorted a male to a residence to retrieve his belongings in the 300 block of S. Wilson Avenue.
  • As a result of a traffic stop in the 400 block of N. Wilson Avenue, Jordan Teeples, 18, of Jefferson was issued a citation for improper registration plate lamp. During the traffic stop, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, the officer located a plastic baggy on the floor that contained suspected marijuana. The evidence will be sent to the Carroll Police Department for testing.
  • Jennifer Schiltz reported being followed by a vehicle in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way. It was determined the suspects in the vehicle were playing Pokemon Go and were not intending to follow her.
  • An officer received an abandoned 911 call in the 500 block of W. Mahlon Street.

March 14, 2018

  • An officer checked on a 911 hang-up call in the 500 block of Mahlon Street. The officer made contact with a female who reported a verbal argument with her boyfriend. She was leaving the residence for the evening and did not need further assistance.
  • A traffic stop was performed in the 100 block of W. Washington Street, resulting in Venessa Cayler of Farnhamville being issued a citation for operation without registration.
  • The Webster County Sheriff’s office reported a male, possibly in Jefferson, who had an outstanding Webster County arrest warrant. An officer located the subject at 412 W. McKinley St. and placed him in custody for the warrant. Keith Allen Long, 50, of Dayton was wanted for possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
  • A traffic stop in the 300 block of W. Madison Street resulted in Patricia Perez of Perry being issued a citation for fail to have a valid driver’s license.
  • An officer performed a funeral escort.
  • An officer removed a feral cat from a live trap in the 200 block of S. West Street.
  • Mike Prevost reported the theft of floor mats from his vehicle at 902 N. Elm Street. He had laid the mats just outside the wash bay to dry as he washed his vehicle. An officer was able to view surveillance video from the business and develop a suspect. The officer later spoke to the suspect, who admitted to the theft. The officer is gathering a request for an arrest warrant for Paul Nelson, 43, of Jefferson for fifth-degree theft.
  • An officer assisted a female who was locked out of her residence at 1126 McDuffie Drive. The officer was able to gain entry.
  • Paul Hostetler turned in a debit card he found in the 100 block of N. Wilson Avenue into the Law Enforcement Center. An officer is attempting to return the card to the owner.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
