March 17, 2017

  • Durlam Electric reported a car parked in their lot at 1108 N. Elm St. An officer contacted the vehicle’s owner and advised the owner to move it from the private property.
  • A caller reported a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on 220th Street, eastbound towards Jefferson. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
  • Chad McLeod spoke with an officer concerning a civil child custody issue at 203 E. McKinley Street.
  • Someone reported a loose piece of tin roofing blowing on the building in the 500 block of W. McKinley Street. An officer contacted the building’s owner and advised him of the issue.
  • An officer investigated a backing accident at 109 Harding Road. A 2009 Chevrolet Impala, owned and operated by Keli Luther of Dana, backed into a parked 2010 Chevy Cobalt, owned by Cassandra Brown of Jefferson. Both vehicles suffered minor damage. Luther was issued a citation for unsafe backing upon a highway.
  • An officer assisted with a medical call in the 400 block of N. Grimmell Road.

March 18, 2017

  • Officers assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 1400 block of Woodland Drive.
  • Officers assisted Alliant Energy in the 400 block of N. Vine Street with a small natural gas leak.
  • Lester Johns reported an injured rabbit in the 500 block of S. Chestnut Street. The officer disposed of the animal.
  • A traffic stop was performed at 220th and Elm streets, which resulted in Brittany Star Bowman of Jefferson being issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
  • Officers assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 600 block of S. Cedar Street.
  • Amelia Kennedy reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend at 406 1/2 E. State St. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Michael Eugene Hamilton, 39, of Jefferson for third-offense domestic abuse assault.

March 19, 2017

  • An officer assisted with a medical call in the 400 block of N. Grimmell Road.
  • The Redwood Hotel spoke with an officer about a possible “Over Occupancy” occurring at 209 E. Gallop Road.
  • An officer checked a residence in the 400 block of N. Pinet Street after a 911 call from the residence. The officer learned a young child was playing with a phone.
  • A traffic stop was performed in the 400 block of E. Clark Street, resulting in Joseph Ross Jabbay being issued a citation for driving while suspended.
  • Officers assisted with a civil property dispute occurring at 608 N. Olive St.
  • James McBride requested officers at 100 W. Vest St. for a female refusing to leave. An officer spoke with both parties, and the female left of her own free will.
  • Meredith Myers spoke with an officer at the Law Enforcement Center about a civil child custody issue.
  • Jack Williams reported a motorcycle driving in a careless manner east of Jefferson of 235th Street.
