November 15, 2019

  • Sheri Bates reported she struck a deer in the 1200 Block of Westwood Drive. Her vehicle was not damaged in the collision. The deer was able to run off.
  • Pat Griffin reported a careless driver on 220th Street. The vehicle was eastbound near Grand Junction, and the officer took no action.
  • Alexis Jordan requested assistance at 104 E. Madison St. after locking herself out of the residence. An officer was able to gain access without damaging the door.
  • A Greene County Deputy requested assistance from officers in attempting to locate a structure fire reported by a pilot. The pilot reported it was five miles north of Jefferson.
  • An officer was requested at 1000 W. Adams St. for a noise complaint of loud music. The officer spoke to a resident, who turned the music down.
  • An officer performed a traffic stop in the 800 block of E. Lincoln Way with a speeding vehicle. During the stop, the officer saw a handgun behind the center console. The officer found the firearm to have a fully loaded magazine. One 15-year-old male and one 16-year-old male were placed in custody for carrying weapons.
  • An officer investigated a car-deer accident at 220th Street and Oakland Avenue. The 2014 Chrysler Town and Country Van was owned and operated by Austin Taylor of Jefferson. The westbound vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
  • An officer spoke to the driver of a vehicle parked at Kelso Park. The officer advised the driver that the park was closed, and the driver went on his way.

November 16, 2019

  • An officer was assisted by a deputy with a medical call in the 200 block of E. Clark Street.
  • An employee of A&W requested an officer at 300 N. Elm St. for a reported fight in progress. An officer arrived and spoke to an employee and her estranged boyfriend, who were engaged in a verbal argument. The male was advised to leave the business.
  • An officer assisted a semi driver with mechanical issues at 220th and Mulberry streets.
  • Caleb Halligan reported two dogs running loose in the 400 block of N. Olive Street. An officer did not locate the reported animals in the area.
  • Officers were called to 407 N. Wilson Ave. for an assault in progress. The officer arrived and spoke to the persons involved. Richard Dean Tuhn, 41, of Jefferson was arrested for first-degree burglary and assault causing bodily injury.
  • A caller reported a vehicle that was westbound on 220th Street and kept stopping in the middle of the roadway. The caller said the vehicle was now pulling in at the casino. An officer was unable to locate the reported vehicle.
  • A traffic stop at Elm and Sunset streets resulted in Benjamin Gibson of Gowrie being issued a citation for excessive speed.

November 17, 2019

  • An officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 100 block of N. Maple Street.
  • An officer checked on a 911 hang-up call from 700 S. Wilson Ave. The officer learned children had been playing with the phone and all was fine at the residence.
  • Caleb Halligan reported two dogs running at large again in the 400 block of N. Olive Street. The officer located the animals and placed them in the animal holding facility.
  • Nicki Borkowski reported a possible violation of a protective Order at 505 N. Grimmell Road. The officer is investigating.
  • An officer responded to an alarm activation at 400 N. Elm St. An employee accidentally tripped the alarm.
  • Steven Dzuris spoke with an officer about a civil property issue occurring at 104 E. Monroe St.
  • Chris Vargas spoke with an officer voicing concerns about his grandson who attends the Greene County Elementary being unsafe there. The officer made contact with school officials, who are working through the issue with the students involved.
  • Rebecca Chumley spoke with an officer about a possible harassment issue. An officer is investigating.
