  • An officer located an open door at 1002 N. Cedar St. The officer secured the building.
  • An officer was requested at 404 E, Harrison St. for a bat in the residence. The officer did not locate the bat.
  • Nancy Timmons reported a male standing along the road on 220th Street near M Avenue and waiving his arms at traffic in the area. An officer spoke to the male and learned he was setting up to flag traffic in the area for road work.
  • A retail store requested assistance in locating the owner of a vehicle that was parked in their parking lot for numerous days at 1207 N. Elm St. An officer made contact with the registered owner, who said it would be removed.
  • Deb Cooklin spoke to an officer about a vehicle parked at her rental property at 509 S. Olive St.
  • An officer located a dog running at large in the 200 block of W. State Street. The animal was placed in the Jefferson Animal Holding Facility.
  • Officers performed a funeral escort.
  • Jim Copeland reported he received the Publisher’s Clearing House phone scam. The caller asked Copeland to send $550 to them in order to receive his prize. He did not incur a loss.
  • Robert Horak requested a welfare check on a person in the 100 block of E. State Street after not being able to contact the subject all day by phone. Officers made contact with the person, who was fine.
  • A traffic stop in the 200 block of E. Washington Street resulted in Junior Gutierres of Jefferson being issued a citation for failure to have a valid diver’s license.
  • Josh Derry reported an unattended fire burning very close to a residence in the 300 block of N. Locust Street. An officer was unable to locate the reported fire.
  • Chad Ferguson requested an officer respond to the Field House at 102 S. Chestnut St. in order to remove some unruly parents from the building. The parents left before the officer arrived, and all was fine.
  • An officer located an open door at 501 W. Greenewood Road.
