November 6, 2019

  • An officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 200 block of E. Perry Street.
  • A traffic stop at 220th Street and Doreen Wilbur Drive resulted in Andrew Winters of Jefferson being issued a citation for operation without registration.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 600 block of Rushview Drive.
  • An officer responded to an alarm activation at 200 W. State St. The officer found the bank to be secure.
  • Dean Promes reported a deer struck in the 1300 block of S. Elm Street that was still on the roadway. An officer responded and issued a salvage tag for a local resident to take the deer.
  • Mike Mentzer reported construction vehicles blocking mailboxes in the 500 block of E. Clark Street. An officer spoke to construction workers and had the vehicles moved to allow residents to receive their mail.
  • Teresa Gregerson spoke with an officer about unwanted text messages.
  • Kelsey Stringer reported she was assaulted while walking in the 800 block of N. Cedar Street. Stringer said she was struck from behind and assaulted while on the ground. She could provide no description of the person or persons involved.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on a dog tied out at 619 S. Olive St. An officer found the animal had access to shelter, food and water. No action was taken by the officer.
  • Duane Dozier reported a vehicle was broken down near 220th and Elm streets. An officer contacted the registered owner, and it was removed a short time later.
  • An officer requested an arrest warrant after lab results came back on seized items. The items were seized from a male at 606 U.S. Highway 30 E. after the officer smelled marijuana on a customer at the business Oct. 1. The requested warrant is for Michael Allen Clement, 58, of Boone for first-offense possession of controlled substance-marijuana.

November 7, 2019

  • Junior Lopez reported a vehicle slid off the roadway in the 700 block of E. Lincoln Way and was in the fairgrounds grassy area. The vehicle was gone when an officer arrived.
  • A traffic stop in the 400 block of S. Vine Street resulted in Amanda Mitchell of Rippey being issued a citation for excessive speed.
  • An officer checked on an alarm activation at 204 W. Madison St. All was fine at the facility.
  • Dispatch reported an open-line 911 call at 504 S. Oak St. It was an accidental call, and all was fine.
  • Teresa Gregerson spoke with an officer about unwanted contact from a Jefferson male while working at 220 N. Chestnut St. Officers are working to speak with the male to end the issue.
  • Brittany Gunn spoke with an officer to report suspicious behavior from a male as she shopped on the square.
  • A traffic stop was performed at Iowa Highway 4 and 257th Street after the officer’s radar locked the vehicle at 10 mph over in the 1400 block of S. Elm Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Gary Wayne Lincoln, 60, of Dexter for first-offense OWI and excessive speed.
  • An officer assisted a deputy on a medical call at 1502 235th Street.
